For more than two hundred years, the Sazanami clan has run the Rakuzaichi, an underground black market where Japan's most coveted sorcerous objects are traded at auction.
Its patriarch, Kyora Sazanami, was defeated by Chihiro when he infiltrated one of these auctions to recover the blade Shinuchi.
Hakuri Sazanami, a disowned member of the clan, took the opposite path, becoming a valuable ally of Chihiro.
